New World is an ambitious MMO that stands on a solid foundation.
New World is a bit of an oddity. It’s an MMO (massively multiplayer online) without classes, with a hard focus on crafting and biffing your way across an island set in the fantasy-warped 1700s. On this island, you’ll take on a variety of monsters and – if you fancy it – players that have aligned themselves with whichever of the three factions you haven’t picked.
In true MMO style, your character gets stronger, crafts better and accumulates more stuff as you progress. Here, you start out scratching along the beach looking for flint and feathers for arrows. 40 hours later, you’ll find yourself returning to your home city and trying to decide which bookshelf you want for your house in Cutlass Keys.
With everyone exploring the world for the first time together, it's the most an MMO ever gets to feel like a proper adventure, and all this potential and anticipation creates a buzz of excitement that echoes through the starting zones, the hubs and the crowds waiting around for bosses to spawn. Even the dullest stuff becomes slightly more palatable because the bustle of a fresh MMO is weirdly energising.
Compared to the average AAA action RPG, New World doesn’t look like much by 2021 standards, but compared to the average MMO, I’d say it looks rather good, which is another element that makes the game stand out a bit in its genre. Lots of variety in backdrops, vegetation, enemies and locations can be found within each of New World’s… worlds.
As day turns to night, grass flows in the wind, and bodies of water sparkle according to the present amount of light, you’ll quickly become enamored with the art direction despite only a moderate amount of general detail being present. Being able to select a world-set based on the level of population within it is also an interesting metric to use as it can make starting out less intimidating to newcomers of the genre – although I wasn’t a huge fan of that being tethered to any given character you’ve created.
New World Coins are the main currency in Amazon New World, which can be used to buy many useful items, including weapons, armor, potions, etc. There are also many ways for players to obtain New World Coins in the game: after the player kills the monster, they will find some coins in the loot, and the player will also receive a certain New World Gold reward after completing the task issued by the NPC. But accumulating coins through these two methods requires a lot of time. In order to solve the problem that most players lack coins,5mmo will provide players with cheap New World Coins, so that players can enjoy the happiest gaming experience.
